APA Style Resources

[Updated 09/07/2000] Here are some links to APA style guides and help sheets on the internet. Five of the sites I listed last year have disappeared, so they have been removed, and a few new ones have been added. Users of my increasingly aged "APA Manual Crib Sheet" (which the APA asked me to take off my site in 1997) should update the section on electronic citations by visiting the APA page on that subject, last on the list below.

• A Guide for Writing Research Papers based on American Psychological Association (APA) Documentation [Prepared by the Humanities Department at Capital Community-Technical College, Hartford, Connecticut.]
• A Guide for Writing Research Papers based on Modern Language Association (MLA) Documentation [In case you find out you were not supposed to use APA style. MLA is the most common alternative in college classes.]
• APA Pub Manual FAQ [The APA's own set of answers to Frequently Asked Questions]
• APA Publication Manual Crib Sheet [A revised version of the crib sheet by Bill Scott of the College of Wooster, including a link to the APA page on electronic resources.]
• APA Style Essentials by Douglas Degelman, Ph.D., and Martin Lorenzo Harris, Ph.D.
• APA Style Guide Prepared by Ron Corio
• APA style guide at the University of Southern Mississippi [Mostly covers reference formats]
• Guidelines for Writing in APA Style, by William U Borst, Troy State University [Comes pretty close to simulating an APA paper, lists many grammar and punctuation and usage rules]
• How to Cite Information From the Internet and the World Wide Web [Straight from the APA!]
